It's quite hard to keep track of everything I've done over the last 5 years, but here's the important stuff. I'll change the items available for download (where applicable) periodically, and for large files I strongly recommend the use of some sort of download manager to avoid incomplete files and frustration. Most files are zipped up to avoid direct linking and streaming. If you can't handle that, then it's just tough.

The Broadcast Sessions
"The Broadcast Sessions" will hopefully be a place for me to share my musical tastes in a more immediate way then the painfully-slowly constructed "RsH" series, and thus keep my 'star profile' (hahahaha) from vanishing completely. It's all about the tunes. The plan is to upload a new session every couple of weeks or so, but we'll see how long that lasts... .

XFM Scotland Crush Mix
This was done around March 2006 for Grant McSleazy's show (RIP - the show, not him). 20 minutes is an odd time to work to, and this sort of sounds like it'd be in the middle of a 'Radio Soundhog' mix proper. There's a lot packed into a short space here, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, Apollo 100, Small Faces, The Poets, Bobby Byrd... I like it.

Radio Soundhog Vol. 6 - Don't Call It A Comeback
Made for "The Rinse" on XFM London, December 2005. My infuriating obsession for detail nearly drove me mad when making this. A very broad ranging set which I'd be happy to have as my epitaph... Maybe one day some label will be brave/intelligent enough to put one of these mixes out commercially instead of the shite they sell at the moment.

Radio Soundhog Vol. 5 - 33 Problems
January 2005, later played on XFM London and BBC Radio Wales. 60 minutes long, involving Slade, Renegade Soundwave, Demis Roussos, Alter Ego and shitloads more. I was not a happy bunny after events just before this was made, and it's dedicated to certain people who I'd be happy to see pushed off a cliff. Listen out for the clues...

"The Rinse" mix
November 2004, done for James Hyman's "The Rinse" show (just in case you hadn't worked that out). 60 minutes long, starts off with CCS's "Brother" and ends up somewhere else entirely. Not my greatest work but has enough good moments in it to justify it, and it shat all over the competition on that night according to most opinions...

Radio Soundhog Vol. 4 - The Offshore Tapes
June 2004. This is a good representation of my live sets of the time, although only about a quarter of it is from actual live recordings. Starts off on the dancefloor and doesn't get off it until the very end, as the pirate radio station burns. This contains *that* Dire Straits vs Dooms Night thing that haunts FakeID and myself to this very day.

Radio Soundhog Vol.3 - As Heard On...
February 2004 ,a quick live bash-down using a couple of CDJs... not really worthy of a "Radio Soundhog" title in retrospect, but it's too late now. This was done as a promotional thing for my first gig in Budapest, and I can't remember if what I played at the gig bore any relation to this mix, but everyone seemed happy enough...

Radio Soundhog Vol.2 - The Superchunk
November 2003. Done for Eddy Temple-Morris' XFM London show "The Remix". The sound of me throwing everything into the pot. Half an hour of full-on editing madness with The Pink Floyd, Chicago, Primal Scream, Finitribe, Dave & Ansel Collins, Area Code 615 and more. Of course, it went straight over everyone's heads...

Liquid Radio - Green Room Mix
November 2003. Liquid Radio was an experimental digital only radio station that Virgin were running in London at the time. This 18 minute mini-mix was done for their "Green Room" show at fairly short notice, and as such included a few things I'd already started but had no idea how to use or finish. I'm fairly sure it's the only known use of "73 Club"...

Radio Soundhog Vol.1 - 74 Minute Mix
July 2003. An out and out bootleg mix, containing loads of old chestnuts. Rather clumsily put together in retrospect, but it was pretty popular at the time. There are approx. 30 CD copies of this out there with artwork. If you've still got one, treasure it. I don't think it'll make a fortune on eBay yet, but maybe one day eh?

BBC Radio Wales Mix
December 2002. 34 minutes long. I think it's fair to say this shit a few people up at the time, and there's still more quality and inventiveness in here than most 'mash up' 'producers' could ever hope to achieve in their whole sorry lives. A product of the times for certain, but it did give me the impetus to carry on with it all. For better or for worse...

Tauchsieder - Louder
Late 2006, released 2007. Firmly in the experimental camp but not so much as to forget the value of a nice tune. Gained a couple of positive reviews in several UK publications, which is nice - but more would have been nicer. Featuring guest contributions from Richard X, Tom Ellard, Colin Newman and JD Twitch. Visit the Tauchsieder website to hear snippets of the album. I think we've already split up (not that we were ever really 'together'). This might change if some miracle happens.

Microfilm - Inhibitions (Soundhog remix)
May 2006, released 2007. Microfilm are an electronic duo from Chicago. My reworking of their track 'Inhibitions' dispenses with most of the original elements and turns it into in a 10 minute long, sprawling, analogue arpeggiated epic. It's available on the 2CD set After Dark/Blueprints, along with a Tauchsieder remix of the same track and some other great reworkings by the likes of InfantJoy, Monologic and Arthur Rimbaud.

Shelly Poole - Lost In You (Soundhog remix)
May 2006. Taking Ms Poole's slightly countrified ballad and turning it into an out and out, dark tinged, electronic pop record. This came out on CD#2 of a 2 disc set, but as the original version didn't recieve any radio play it got somewhat lost itself. But that's nothing unusual, sadly. Worth seeking out if you like spooky electropop.

Tauchsieder - Quiet
Internet 'release', April 2006. "The deepest beatless ambient sounds... deepest ambience, simple drones and undulating sounds designed for meditational background sound. It seems so simple but it makes you feel so goooooood. 4 / 5"
said Mixmag, amazingly.

This is - Infinite Zen
March 2006. A six track, heavyweight coloured vinyl 12". Against my better judgement, they managed to convince me to contribute my (fairly) infamous DJ throwaway novelty track "500 Bad Mice", pitting 2 Bad Mice's 'Bombscare' against The Proclaimers' biggest hit. Praised then pilloried by ultra-annoying Radio 1 "DJs" "JK & Joel". Like I give a shit. I'm more bothered by Huw Stephens playing it and ignoring my other stuff...

Soundhog - Curdler EP
November 2004. My first proper release, or it would have been if anyone had actually heard the thing. 3 tracks, all fairly dirty electronic dance music but with actual tunes in them. Deleted according to the 'record co' (ha ha) but I have access to the remainders if anyone wants one. Mike could use his loft space back... Deserved a better fate.

Kling Klang - Heavydale - Soundhog Remix
February 2007. This is the Liverpool/Edinburgh based,
'Krautrock influenced' band's best known track - originally
from the Superposition EP and also available on 2006's
absolutely essential album "The Esthetik Of Destruction".
It should be played as loud as possible.
I sent it to the band. I never heard a word back. Ah, well...

LCD Soundsystem - Time To Get Away - sH Ruins It
February 2007. Distorted, overly compressed, noisy as fuck. Done for me, not for anyone else. That just about sums it up, I think.

Soundhog feat. Ex Rental - Slip Inside This House
2005 as part of "Screamixadelica". The only time I've ever contributed to an internet bootleg/tribute album. In general these things are shockingly shit affairs (Depeche Mode, Fatboy Slim and Blur "albums" being horrific examples) but this one turned out okay. Vocals were provided by Sean Turner, the man behind the electronic pop act ex-rental, who I did my first ever remix for (get it out there, Sean!)

Historia De La Musica Rock - 2002 to 2004
Right, people asked for it, so after 3 years I've done it. A selection of my early stuff, cleaned up a bit and collected together. Most of this stuff has been unavailable for an awfully long time, and a lot of it I'll wager you won't have heard before. I'd forgotten about much if it myself...
