Radio Soundhog - The Broadcast Sessions
"The Broadcast Sessions" will hopefully be a place for me to share my musical tastes in a more immediate way then the painfully-slowly constructed "RsH" series, and thus keep my 'star profile' (hahahaha) from vanishing completely. It's all about the tunes. The plan is to upload a new session every couple of weeks or so, but we'll see how long that lasts...

Soundhog - Mix90 #4
"...I'm Contented As I Am..."
15/02/08 - You should know the score by now. 2 x 45 minutes of top gear (hey!) sounds. The tracklisting and sleevenotes (notes to follow) are available in text form if you click the inlay card below. The heady smell of psychedelic dungeons runs through most of the music this time around, whether '60s fuzz, '70s Welsh electronic-folk, '80s revival, or '90s revival-revival. With a couple of obvious exceptions, just for the sheer hell of it. I hope you enjoy it, and investigate some of the artists 'furthur'.

Soundhog - Funk625 mix
11/02/08 - Something I did at the start of the year with somebody else in mind, but it's ended up on here instead. Nothing flash, just a solid hour - give or take a few seconds - of '60s/'70s instrumental funk (whatever that means these days) classics, plus a couple of more recent examples of the style, some Hungarian and Icelandic oddities, library stuff, and some other bits and bobs... nothing groundbreaking or anything like that, just some good tunes mixted together. Ideal for car journeys, house tidying, leaf sweeping and general head nodding.
Click on the covers to the left for larger versions, including tracklisting. Running time approx. 60 minutes. 82mb file, please do not stream!

Soundhog - Mix90 #3
"...Something To Make Us All Happy..."
25/12/07 - Yet another 2 x 45 minutes of ace music, personally selected and mixed by my good self. These
things are almost becoming regular. Don't get too confortable though. Again, you can click the inlay card below for the tracklisting and sleevenotes. The themes for this month's mix are 'heavy' and 'light'. You shouldn't have too much trouble working out which is which... As with the other two, there's no timestretching or other digital voodoo crap involved, just good old fashioned editing.

Soundhog - Mix90 #2
"...I Do What I Do, Indeed I Do..."
21/11/07 - Another 2 x 45 minutes of stuff. Some bits are even actually mixed... sort of. I believe this is what they call 'an eclectic selection', if they're stuck for a more imaginative phrase. Again, click the inlay card below for a text version of the tracklisting, which this time includes copious sleevenotes. Who else would go to such efforts on a freebie download, eh? Nobody sensible, that's for sure... Do let me know if you enjoy the experience, it's the only thing that keeps me going...

Soundhog - Mix90 #1
"...And It Looks Like We've
Made It Once Again..."
30/10/07 - 90 minutes of the finest psych, funk, pop, themes, prog, new wave and neu wave. Segued, mixed and formatted for recording to the C90 compact cassette of your choice (with Dolby NR switched very definitely OFF) and listening to. I hope there's something in here you'll like enough to investigate further.

Tonybear vs Soundhog - Drunk Afterhours No.1
16/10/07 - A recording of one of the semi-regular late night DJ mixathons which I indulge in with friends. Two CDJs, two 1210s, one rubbish Citronic mixer, no planning, one tune each until the beer runs out. No tracklisting, but you'll hear The Mamas & The Papas, Jurassic 5, Indian Ropeman, The B52s, Killing Joke, Appletree Theatre and Future Of The Left amongst others - pop to funk to beats to rock to psych and back again via all sort of other styles. 100% unedited, warts and all.
Running time approx. 100 minutes. 96mb file, PLEASE do not stream! A download manager of some kind is highly recommended to avoid incomplete files and frustration.
